Young people clinics at Sandyford are a place for13 – 17 year olds who live in Greater Glasgow and Clydeto get support on sexual health and contraception.
We have clinics at7different locationsand you can book an appointment at whichever one you prefer.
You don’t need to have had sex before to make an appointment. However, you must beat least 13years old to use this service. If you are under 13 and have questions about sex, it is important that you speak to an adult that you trust.
Why your sexual health is important
Good sexual health is a part of good general health. There are simple things you can do to stay on top of it – like using condoms to protect you from sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and finding the right contraception for you to prevent pregnancy.
A big part of sexual wellbeing is being comfortable, so it’s okay to ask questions and take your time – you deserve to make choices that feel right for you and help you stay healthy.

FAQs
I had sex without a condom but didn't come to the clinic straight away - is it too late to come get tested?
It's best to talk to us as soon as possible after having sex without a condom so we can check if you are eligible foremergency contraception (this is usually within 5 days of sex without contraception), test for pregnancy andSTI's. However, if you haven't been able to do this for whatever reason, we will never judge. Just be sure to book an appointment as soon as you can.
The video below from Govanhill Roma Youth Project shows you how you can get Emergency Contraception from your local pharmacy.
Will you tell my parents/teachers/doctor or anyone else that I have attended a clinic?
No, our services are confidential. We will always seek your permission before contacting anyone, with the only exception being if we have extreme concerns over your safety.
What if I am too nervous to come to a clinic?
We understand that this can be daunting, especially if you have never attended an appointment like this before! But please be assured that you will be met by friendly and non-judgemental staff who will be happy to answer any questions you may have in a discreet manner. And you can usually bring someone you trust with you if that makes you feel more comfortable.
Can I bring a friend or someone else with me?
You can bring a friend, family member, support worker or someone else you trust with you to your appointment. We usually see you alone at the start of the appointment to ask some questions in private, then your friend/family member can come into the appointment after that. Sometimes we might want to see you by yourself for the whole appointment – if this is the case we will explain why.
Your rights
All young people have a right to sexual health services that are welcoming, confidential, respectful and that meet their needs.
